Why RMCL exists
RMCL is a Windows launcher PoC for Minecraft: Java Edition. It began as a practical desktop scenario for trying the Sprout UI framework, connecting accounts, preparation, instances, content and worlds into usable flows.
It is not intended to compete with or replace other launchers. If native desktop UI or AI assistance interests you, follow progress and try it in an environment that suits you.
It targets Windows 10 version 2004, build 19041, or later, on x64 and ARM64. RMCL is released and free to use.
Everyday features
The project works through common beginner tasks: creating and migrating instances, accounts, runtime preparation, content installation, modpack import, server favorites and connection, and world backup and recovery.
A separate skin designer provides manual painting, layers, 3D preview, history and AI editing. Read the guide and check the actual version for available actions.
Directions being explored
AI assistance is a growing focus: helping new players understand terms and errors, gather evidence for a specific instance and handle preparation, content, problems and skin creation within a clear scope.
A direction is not a delivered feature. Automatic gameplay, character management, general server administration and universal automatic repair must not be inferred from it. Model quality and real operation results need separate checks.
Native UI continues to develop around everyday tasks. The separate in-game Rodel UI mod is another interface experiment; installing the launcher does not automatically replace every game or third-party mod screen.
Advanced entry points
Alongside the native app, a command-line entry point supports scripts, diagnosis and external AI integration. Ordinary players can use the app and this guide without learning commands.
The optional experimental game bridge reads current game information and allows limited operations in local worlds. Servers are always read-only. This has a different completion standard from automatic gameplay; read AI assistant.
Availability and independence
RMCL is free to use and remains a modest UI and AI experiment. It is independent of Minecraft and Microsoft and does not claim their certification, sponsorship or endorsement.
Minecraft and related marks belong to their respective owners. RMCL is independent, and game entitlement must be obtained through appropriate official channels and requirements.
Source plans and discussion
Source code is not public yet; an open-source release is planned. You do not need repository access to use RMCL. See Feedback and logs for problems or suggestions.
