When a modpack helps
A modpack groups mods and configuration. It saves choosing every item individually, but still needs a matching game version, loader and runtime.
RMCL supports offline import of Modrinth .mrpack and CurseForge ZIP packages. An ordinary ZIP is not necessarily a modpack. For an already installed game folder, use game import.
Import a package
- Open modpack import in Instances and select a package from a trusted source.
- Check its name, version, game version and format.
- Enter an instance name and confirm the destination.
- Review optional client content and decide what to include.
- Start and follow the continuous steps for content, loader and Java preparation.
Required files are not optional items. Completion of one stage does not mean the entire game is ready.
When a CurseForge package needs files
There is currently no default CurseForge online search or API download service. Offline package import, manual file completion, export and source information remain supported.
Use the missing-file list to obtain exact files from the author or project's source, then continue through the manual completion action. A similar name does not replace an exact version. Do not run executables from an unknown package source.
Content imported, runtime unfinished
Keep the registered instance and choose Continue runtime preparation. For a failed download, inspect the source and network error, then retry the unfinished stage. You do not need another copy of the instance.
Use a new world for an initial check before moving in important saves.
Update an existing pack
Back up worlds and the current configuration, and read the author's upgrade notes. For packs supporting source checks, review the available update and file differences before applying it.
Server distribution packs can contain managed files. If a check reports player modifications, extra files, missing items or conflicts, understand the scope first. Finding a release is not the same as overwriting every file.
Apply the list you just reviewed. The updated setup still needs an actual launch check.
Roll back or stop following the source
Stopping source checks does not delete game files. Available interface actions depend on the pack format and state. Unsupported online sources report that limitation.
Export for a friend
Choose modpack export from instance management and review local mods and configuration. A package is not a full world backup; export worlds separately. Check for private addresses and credentials before sharing.
